“Vibe Check” is an engaging lifestyle show that takes viewers on a journey through the
electrifying world of music events, launches, red carpets and festivals. It will give the
5FM listeners/viewers a front row seat and backstage access to all of Joburg’s hottest
and coolest events. Each episode captures the energy and atmosphere of these
gatherings, profiling artists, fans, and the cultural significance behind each experience.

On this week’s episode of Vibe Check hosted by Boipelo Mooketsi, we turned the
volume all the way up as we went on a hunt with MXD to search for the hottest
up-and-coming DJ who could ultimately earn a spot on the Ultra South Africa stage.
5FMs very own Kyle Cassim played a pivotal role as one of the judges on the
#MXDDjSearch and also held down the Pretoria leg, while Your Radio Bae took on the
Cape Town and Durban legs in this episode; bringing together different cities, sounds,
and perspectives in the ultimate hunt for the next big DJ.
They pulled up scouting for fresh talent, big energy, and DJs with the skills to take over
the decks. From clean transitions to crowd-moving sets, each city brought serious heat
and showed just how strong South Africa’s next generation of DJs really is.
